"My Spy" is the latest Star Wars series based on a popular TV show by BBC, "Spooks". The series follows the adventures of Alec Leamas, an ex-Spook and private investigator whose latest case is locating the whereabouts of Luke Skywalker.
The TV series was popular in the UK and throughout Europe, with the first season of the series being aired in Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, and the Netherlands. It was cancelled after one season. However, it eventually made its way to Hollywood, where it was remade into a live action movie.
The movie is produced by Relativity Media and stars Ben Whishaw, Liam Neeson, Anthony Daniels, and Claudia Christian. It tells the story of Alec Leamas, who is hired by Princess Leia to find her brother, Luke Skywalker.
Unlike other movies based on Star Wars, this movie is not based on a movie series. It is a stand alone movie. However, unlike "Spooks", it has very good story and it has more twists and turns than expected.
The set up of "My Spy" is very similar to the movie "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace", which was released a year earlier. So if you have watched the movie, you will most likely enjoy this movie.
The movie itself is also interesting as it has different plot lines. You don't need to be familiar with the previous TV series to watch this movie. You can watch it even if you haven't watched the series before.
Alec Leamas works for both the public and the government, and he helps Leia and her husband, Lando Calrissian, who is Luke's friend. After the death of his old boss, Brinkley, he tries to find out where Brinkley had hidden Luke's lightsaber.
Like all other Star Wars series, "My Spy" is based on a TV series, but unlike most of them, it is a comedy. The funny part is that it is based on a series that was cancelled.
