Like its predecessor, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Ant-Man and the Wasp are a fun and exciting adventure to watch. Although, it is very similar to the first one in many ways, it manages to bring new and exciting ideas to make it more fascinating. For those who have not watched the first installment yet, it would be a good idea to watch it first.
The film starts with Howard Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Janet van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) as they are shown by Tony Stark (referring to Iron Man in the first movie), the father of the movie's main character Scott Lang (a.k.a. Ant-Man). Stark, who is an expert in robotics, has been hired by Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) to create a suit that can be used for different applications like combat. Pym has enlisted the help of Dr. Curt Connors (Michael Peña) and his research group and they will soon be able to create this tool.
Ant-Man and the Wasp feature a lot of action set pieces, which the viewers will certainly not get bored of seeing. When the main characters and Scott Lang are in the nest, they encounter some great scenes. Some of these scenes include:
On one particular scene, Lang is being watched by a woman called Flabbergasted (Bridget Moynahan). While talking to her, he sees her breasts getting exposed and he is definitely turned on by the sight. He then flies off on his invisible car with a lady inside and accidentally crashes it into a lake.
While the first movie was about Howard Stark, the sequel focuses more on Dr. Curt Connors and the small time villains that he and his group have created. During the movie, there are quite a number of twists and turns to make the audience wonder if they are really about to witness something truly unusual.
Another good aspect of the movie is the relationship between the two leads. Although the female lead is a little more of a damsel in distress, she proves to be much more than what many viewers would expect. As far as male characters are concerned, the only one who is worth mentioning is Penelope Cruz's character, Letty.
The plot of the movie is centered on the theory that the good guys always lose their battle against the evil organization called Si.LS (Surprise Lawless). It is an organization that is full of terrorists who are after the success of a project that could change the world. Their first target is Scott Lang and his secret identity but it's not their only aim.
In spite of the plot of the movie being complex, it is actually relatively simple to understand. Its plot is based on the fact that good always wins against the bad even when we are fighting against the same enemy and although the Ant-Man and the Wasp movie are about revenge, it can also be seen as something more about hope.
